“As Head of IT and New Technologies Department at Institute of Vocational Training “DOMI”, I work with many students who have substantial knowledge of Game Programming and Development. Each year I notice that only a few outstanding students offer a unique perspective and really embrace their learning of the subject matter. I first met Mr Papadakis in my Flash Animation course, during the autumn 2009 semester. Compared to the class average of 14 out of 20, Mr Papadakis earned a 20 in the class. Mr Papadakis was evaluated on the basis of written exams, quizzes, problem sets, drafts of papers, oral presentations, internet/websites research, classroom discussions, in which he performed exceptionally well. Though Mr Papadakis has consistently exceeded in all areas of his coursework, the best example of his intelligence shone through a project on “Space Invaders arcade video game”. He presented the remake version of the 1978 Space Invaders arcade video game, which was designed by using Processing and Java languages, in a technological event organised by the Institute of Vocational Training "DOMI". The work clearly showed his ability to deliver a clear, concise and well-thought game development with a new perspective by demonstrating his skills not only in programming but also in managing his own project. Mr Papadakis continues to impress me with his knowledge, skill and dedication to his work.”
